Here's a classic Pogues performance from Saturday Night Live. Just watch Mr James Fearnley ripping it up on that accordion - nobody played accordion like that back then.
This antique accordion caused a bit of a buzz when it appeared on Ebay recently. It has no makers marks but is clearly pretty old. The keys are mother of pearl and the body is covered in marquetry patterned to look like cloisonne. It sold for £370.
If you've got one of these in the attic then let me know !
Here's a fun looking toy - a Xylomatic; made in 1970 in Spain by Congost.
You put the plastic pegs in holes in the drum and then turn the handle. The pegs trigger the beaters to hit the xylophone keys. Basically it's a programmable music box !
This makes me think that surely the canny Victorians invented a programmable music box...
