Some Argentina Rock Music

It's a bank holiday weekend here and the weather has been perfect for pottering about and not doing too much. Ideal for barbecues, visiting outdoor markets and sitting in the garden.

Here's some radio-friendly rock music from Argentina  as a throwaway soundtrack to your weekend.

La Portuaria (with David Byrne)

Kapanga

Also, I'm messing about with a new plug-in for my blog which should hopefully make things a bit more clickable. Try it out and let me know of any problems please.

Detektivbyrån

I found this a while back and forgot how awesome it is. This is Detektivbyrån from Sweden.

Fantastic piece of artwork here from Redmer Hoekstra. I recommend checking out all his other work on Flickr too if you like surrealism.

Soca Bhangra

I think I've mentioned before the 'Chutney' music of the West Indies which in which the local Indian population mix their music with Caribbean sounds. Harmoniums and accordions are often featured. Here's another example.

Way back in Sept 2007 Fernando Hoys from Spain emailed me to suggest I add some photos of Mexican organilleros to Squeezytunes. It took me a while to find out what an organillero is, and then some more time to find a good photo. But here at last is a Mexican Organillero.
