La Bottine Souriante
Seeing Bellowhead last week reminded me of the Quebecois band La Bottine Souriante. I'm sure that these guys influenced the Bellowhead style.

This is Reed Box Man who plays harmonium, accordion and harmonica -all at the same time !
I stopped by the Hohner website yesterday and found that this year is their 150th anniversary.
To celebrate they are selling some very rare gold and chrome harmonicas, and these ones for the common collector.
Possibly of more interest though is the Highlander.
We have developed this attractive tremolo harmonica specially for playing (Scottish) highland bagpipe music. We have rearranged the tones on the A side, to the myxolydian scale, but left the standard tone sequence on the D major side, so you can now play many highland bagpipe melodies with ease.

The flagship for me though is a new addition to their historic reissue series. This is the Echobell, a replica of a 1920s model.
I was also intrigued by this one known as the "O Fado Portuguez".

It's not yet St Patrick's Day but here is a couple of guys playing a fast Irish tune to whet your appetites.
