Back in May I featured a Gem Roller Organ. It was a nice music box type of thing, but at the time I didn't realise that these roller organs don't have metal tines, or strings, but instead they have reeds !
There are three real audio files on Todd Augsburger's Roller Organ site (link below)
This is a Concert Roller model which sold for £409 on Ebay.
And this Chatauqua model sold for £353.

I have my grandmother's concert roller organ and a dozen or so rolls for it. She grew up on a farm in northwestern Illinois in the late 1800's. I remember her telling me about Sunday afternoon gatherings on their front porch with the neighboring families stopping by - and how they would play the organ and sing along. I love it, and am so happy to have this tie to my Grandma, who has been gone for thirty years now.
