I can't believe I've never posted anything about the Gotan Project before !
Their 2001 album La Revancha del Tango was truly groundbreaking in that not only did it mix tango with modern beats and production, but it was also the first album in which the bandoneon was officially a cool sound !
I appreciate the desire to popularize tango by mixing it with other forms and updating production techniques, but I still love the old school stuff, the more vulgar the better.
